Start your weekend early at The Grand Cinema with Thursday's $6 All Day deal. Catch Weird Elephant movies at this historical silver screen theatre, nestled in downtown Tacoma, Washington. The humble space makes for perfect viewing at every angle, with three screens playing classics and a few newbies too. Monthly events highlight social points, March being International Women's Month.
Brought out by another Artist Date to sooth and nurture the Artist within, a movie at the Grand seemed right. He Named Me Malala about Malala Yousafzai to celebrate International Woman's Month simply electrifies my authentic self to emerge unapologetically. Enriching my soul is such a joy as an artist. Flowing and going where the muse directs may look like chaos to onlookers, but it's exhilarating and the true meaning of living.
Sitting in the humble theatre, the energy of so many who came before to enjoy the silver screen, enlightens connection to an otherwise generally dark and dreary world. I am brought to life and my empathy for my fellow man opens. I have learned when I pour into myself I actually pour into those around me. Malala speaks fire into my being to use my voice too. Continue the ripple she started and make it a wave of female empowerment. This is what life is about, experience the boundaries and leave something inspiring for others.
Such grand joy brought by the silver screen keeps me coming back. Next week I will see Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story. See ya there!!
